Côte d’Azur

A long weekend waltzing around the French Riviera lives up to its well deserved stereotype. Welcome to the land of the golden tans, the impeccably dressed and the devastatingly rich.

Below are some of my favourite spots to enjoy in the beautiful Côte d’Azur.

1. St Tropez

The town that oozes exclusivity, possibly helped by it being rather difficult to access via public transport! Reachable by car in about an hour and a half hour from Nice Airport (or two buses and a foot ferry taking considerably longer).

Explore the old town, with small boutique shops scattered amongst the major designer labels. The port is fabulous, with much more than enormous yachts to admire. Market day is a must see (on Saturdays) and whilst at it, head to Senequier to refresh yourself with a cool glass of rosé, admire the glamorous culture & soak up the sunshine.

2. Gigaro

The charm of Gigaro beach is captivating. Having more of a typical rustic Mediterranean feel than that of the glitzy French Riviera. Head to Marius de la plage, for drinks & a beautiful view whilst watching the sunset with a fab fresh seafood menu too.

3. Grimaud

A lovely village set up in the hills, Grimaud is a great place to stay if you have access to a car. We stayed at Le Verger Maelvi, a fab 4 star hotel for a fraction of the price of St Tropez. Covered in wisteria & with a lovely pool, this is a great weigh up between luxury & budget.

A short drive away, in Cogolin, Chez Nous is a fabulous spot to head to for dinner. With an incredible 3 course set menu, delicious food, lovely ambience & fabulous wine makes this  place a winner.

4. Cap d’Antibes

Crystal clear waters to swim in & a view to saviour, head to Plage Keller/ restaurant le César. Whitewashed tables, sun loungers dotted along the sea front & lots of beautiful people, it’s a great place to spend the afternoon daydreaming before completing the short drive back to Nice airport and returning to reality.
